Shell Global Solutions International B.V. and i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ITWO) have agreed on a program to assess the development, in collaboration, of a fully integrated supply chain software package for the downstream oil industry. Any eventual solution would be driven by real demand and actual market dynamics. It aims to be the first on the market to offer customers an integrated, end-to-end software solution for supply chain management, covering operations from crude selection to product storage at terminals and depots and, in combination with improved business processes, would be expected to deliver significant bottom line improvements.

The collaboration on the pilot program combines i2's market leadership in developing supply chain management software solutions, with the operational experience and technology of Shell Global Solutions. It is intended that Shell companies operating downstream supply, manufacturing, and distribution businesses around the world would be among the first to implement this package.
